The last decade or so has seen the shopping phenomenon that is Black Friday absolutely explode into public knowledge, and while some may view it as consumerism at it’s worst there is no doubt that there’s a deal or two to be found out there.

It’s no different for photographers either, and when some of our gear runs into the thousands any deal is welcome! Here, we’ll update our list with some of the very best Black Friday deals for photographers to help you get that early Christmas present.

When is Black Friday 2018?

Black Friday this year falls on the 23rd November, and is followed a few days later by Cyber Monday. However, many retailers are expected to launch their deals early this year, and Amazon have announced a huge 10 days of Black Friday deals.

Amazon are known to go all out with their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. This year they’re offering 10 days of deals covering thousands of products. What’s more, it’s already started!

A lot of photographers turn their noses up at the more compact, point and shoot cameras, but I’m not one of them. The image quality gleaned from this 20.1 megapixel Sony sensor is phenomenal given the camera’s size, and it comes complete with electronic viewfinder and an absurdly quick autofocus system. It shoots at 24fps and can capture 4k video too, along with a ridiculous 960fps super slow motion video setting.

It’s a great little camera to have with you at all times in your pocket, and is perfect for those days out where you can’t take your fully fledged camera system.

Canon EOS Rebel T6

This has got to be one of the deals of the year - You can get yourself the beginner friendly Canon EOS Rebel T6 body for a pinch under $300 at Walmart right now! That’s almost $500 off the RRP and far cheaper than the vast majority of places selling it.

The Canon EOS T6 has an excellent 18MP APS-C sensor and can record videos at Full HD. It’s pretty much the perfect beginner DSLR, but for such a cheap price it would also work well as a second camera body for those photographers already invested in Canon.
