If you’ve read our Ultimate Guide to Forest Photography, hopefully you’ve come back home with a memory card full of stunning woodland images. Okay, maybe that’s a bit optimistic, but chances are you’ve got something that you want to take further.
Post processing is the next step, and many photographers start out with the incredibly versatile and powerful Adobe Lightroom. You can read our beginner’s guide to Lightroom here if you’re just getting started with image processing.
Lightroom is undeniably a fantastic tool, and one of the most useful features is the ability to apply presets on any image you want. This feature loads up predetermined settings and applies them to your image, cutting the post processing time down to mere seconds!
In a single click you can apply a whole range of adjustments, meaning your image just needs some finishing touches before it’s ready to upload and/or print.
We’ve developed our very own presets designed specifically with forest photography in mind, and here’s how you can get your hands on them.

Forest Photography Lightroom Presets
You’ve probably come across dozens of websites offering Lightroom presets, but the problem with many of these is that they’re mass produced and generic.
You buy a package with 50 presets, only to find that around half of them are completely unusable, another 10 result in horrible overcooked images, and the rest are too generic to provide any real value.
These forest photography presets are ones that I myself use in my woodland images. They’ve been developed over months and years to get them as good as they possibly can be.
The result is ten presets that provide the perfect starting point for any forest image. They don’t try to slap you in the face, but instead aim to offer a natural and realistic looking finished image. You can see a few of them in action below.
Each piece of woodland has a unique feeling to it, and that varies depending on the time of day, season, and weather conditions.
What if you had a set of presets that gave you the perfect starting point for your image in a matter of seconds?
Well, here’s the answer to that question.
These ten Lightroom presets cover all four seasons and a wide array of weather conditions to give you the perfect starting point for any woodland image. Simply apply the most suitable preset and then add the finishing touches to make each image unique and individual.
These are presets that I use myself during my workflow, cutting my post-processing time down massively and giving me more time in the field and behind the camera.
You can read about each preset in the additional info section, and you can find detailed instructions on how to install the presets here.
